Red Hat Enterprise Linux Release Information

The Red Hat Enterprise Linux™, Release 4.8 is now supported for use with ftServer System Software for the Linux Operating System, Release 4.7.8.0.

MINIMUM KERNEL: kernel-smp-2.6.9-89.EL

Minimum Firmware Required for ftSys 4.7.8.0

Please update your firmware levels to the following revisions when running ftSys 4.7.8.0 or above.

CPU BIOS: 1.3:99

Baseboard Management Controller (BMC): 5.0.0

Revision Checking for BIOS and BMC Firmware

During an upgrade install.sh will check BIOS and BMC revisions and if not at the minimum revision will exit with comments that an upgrade of the BIOS, BMC, or both is required.

During an IPL or upgrade ft-harvestBmcChkpts reports below revision information for the BIOS and BMC in the /var/log/messages file.

IEEE 802.3ad Bonding Mode Unsupported with U574 PCI Adapters

The problem with IEEE 802.3ad being unsupported (ftl_lan:2333) has been resolved by RedHat. This is no longer an issue. This problem is documented in the Release Notes Special Procedures and Restrictions section.

The ifup Command Does Not Return Slave Network Interface to Service

The problem where the ifup command does not return slave network interface to service has been resolved (ftl_lan:2087). This problem is documented in Release Notes Know Problems.

Error Message During First Boot After Linux Installation

This problem (ftl_redhat:81890) has been resolved by RedHat and is no longer an issue. This problem is documented in the Release Notes Known Problems section.
